Who is the protagonist in The Visit: A Tragi-comedy by Friedrich Durrenmatt?

Ill is the protagonist in the play, The Visit. He is not, however, a typical protagonist.... he lacks substance, and although his actions might have seemed heroic in another time.... he is no hero.
