How did Bindu's life change after her appearance in the film, Poornima, in the novel, The Vibrant Years?

When Bindu was seventeen, she acted in the film, Poornima. She did a nude scene on camera for the film, which was directed by Oscar Seth, the man that she was having a passionate affair with. The film was ultimately destroyed, but not before it ended up causing Bindu a great deal of grief. As a result of the film, men were afraid of marrying her, her own mother tried to strangle her, and her father's health deteriorated.
