How does Vickie change over the course of the novel, The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening and the Struggle?

Vickie starts the novel going out with Dick, a friend of Tyler Smallwood, and accompanies Elena and Tyler the night of the Homecoming Ball when they all go out to party at Fells Church. Vickie is attacked presumably by Damon and, throughout the rest of the novel, starts to act strangely and hysterically. The character of Vickie Bennett serves as a frightening reminder to the other characters of what the dangers are of involving yourself with vampires.
