Columbus, Ohio is the Midwestern city in which Greta grows up with her mother Helen, father Conrad, and brother Asher. Throughout her childhood and adolescence, Greta regarded Columbus as a trap. Life in Columbus was everything she did not want for her future. She resented the predictability and conventionality of both the environment and the lifestyle it begot. Her career in music, therefore, is in large part a reaction to her Ohio upbringing.
