For a long time people didn't believe in black holes, including Einstein. However, Hawking believes black holes exist and that they also, in a particular sense, radiate energy. Black holes also appear to have infinitely small and dense centers called singularities, and according to Hawking, you can look for a black hole by finding matter that orbits around something invisible.
