Reyna's character represents the need to love oneself instead of searching for the affection of another. For most of her life, Reyna is convinced - thanks to Venus - that she is broken. She is told that no demigod can heal her heart. Over time, she comes to believe it. However, thanks to Apollo, Reyna realizes that her heart can only heal if she embraces who she wants to be. This is why she joins the hunters; by swearing celibacy, Reyna is finally free, thus proving that one can be happy with who they are.
