The absolute silence of Harpocrates’ prison pushes Apollo and the others to search inside themselves; to see their flaws and overcome them. Everyone leaves the soundless god’s domain with a new purpose, and a promise to become better people than they were before they met him. In the novel, the Soundless God, Harpocrates, is an example of introspection and the importance of taking the time to recognize one’s flaws and correct them.
