What response does K. receive when he asks the three men in the lumber-room, “What are you doing here” in “The Thrasher”?

One of the men, who is clearly in charge of the others and is dressed in a kind of dark leather outfit which left his arms and much of his chest completely bare, doesn’t reply, but the two others cry, “Sir! We’re going to be given a thrashing because you complained about us to the examining magistrate.”
