What is K.’s reaction to the invitation given him by the Deputy Manager in “The First Hearing”?

It is not without importance for K., for he has never got on well with the Deputy Manager, and this invitation is clearly an olive branch and shows how important K. has become in the bank and how valuable his friendship, or at least his neutrality, was for the second-highest employee of the bank.
