How would you characterize the relationship between Block and Dr. Huld in “Block, the Corn Merchant – The Dismissal of the Lawyer”?

Block’s relationship with Dr. Huld, however, is strange and masochistic. Mr. Block, from K.'s viewpoint is a dog with no self-respect. Dr. Huld, to illustrate the nature of the law to K., makes Block abase himself.
