How do Clare and Henry exact revenge upon Jason Everleigh for his abuse of Clare in the novel, The Time Traveler’s Wife?

When Jason make advances on Clare she refuses, and in response he burns her breast with a cigarette and beats her. Henry retaliates when he returns, tying Jason naked to a tree with duct tape, while Clare writes his crime on him in permanent marker.
