What is the theme in The Tempest by William Shakespeare?

Magic, in both good and bad form, is a central theme in this play. Prospero has the ability to use magic to help people but he also uses his magic for vengeance upon his brother and others who wronged him. Prospero also uses his magic on to keep Ariel and Caliban in his servitude.
