Who is Great-Aunt Lucinda from The Field Guide and what is their importance?

Great-Aunt Lucinda makes an occasional appearance in the story in the memories and quotes of others. She is an old woman, who is alive and living in a mental institution. It is believed that the creatures in the house have driven her crazy. Lucinda owns the old Victorian house that the Grace family move into.
