What was Gretel's original motive when moving to Wyoming?

When Gretel first moved to Wyoming her original motive was to lose herself. She wanted to escape from her life and experience something new. Gretel hoped that in moving to Wyoming she would be able to change the things she didn't like about herself and her life.
