What season was the end of the ranching year and what happened during that season?

Fall was the end of the ranching season. During that season all the work that needed to be finished was completed such as cutting and stacking hay and gathering up the sheep and cattle. Fall was a very busy time because there was much work to be completed before the winter snows arrived.
