What metaphors are used in The Sisters Rosensweig by Wendy Wasserstein?

In Act II, Scene II, Pfeni and Sara each have final confrontations with the men in their lives. As a result, they both free to be who they are, embracing their pasts and their futures. This is represented by the way they metaphorically embrace their mother and literally embrace each other and Gorgeous at the conclusion of this scene.
