What does Jack do when he finds Wendy in the ballroom?

He raises the roque mallet over his head and swings it toward Wendy. He hits her in the stomach, knocking the wind out of her. He raises the mallet again, but loses his grip. Wendy tries to get away, but is hit on the right side with the mallet. She grabs the kitchen knife from the floor, her broken ribs causing agony and stabs Jack in the lower back.
