Why is Antonia's stay with Penelope mutually beneficial?

The arrangement of having Antonia stay with Penelope is an ideal one. Penelope can use the house guest as entertainment, but will not be subjected to the constant help that Nancy would have provided her. Meanwhile, Antonia is in dire need of a family-like atmosphere where she can recover from the death of her father.
