In Chapter Seven, educators had once hoped that reading texts with hyperlinks would have very positive learning effects for students in schools. Unfortunately, years of scientific studies and research found that students were not able to retain or learn information any better when using hyperlinks, and in some cases, student learning was worse when reading texts with hyperlinks.
