The patient is a young man who contemplates God and Christianity, and who will soon become a convert. He is described as sincere and thoughtful. When he begins to wander from his newfound faith, he stops himself by reading a book and going for a walk. This affirms his sense of identity and allows him to repent and renew his faith.
