The Scarlet Letter
In the book, The Scarlett Letter, do you believe Hester Payne would have received the same punishment if she had been a man?

In my honest opinion, she recieved the punishment BECAUSE she was female. If she was a man, she might not have been recieved that punishment, and if she was a wealthy man, may not have even been punished. After all, in the 1600's, men were still more powerful and women had less of a voice in the colonies.
