The Scarlet Ibis What is the author's tone in The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst? Asked by bookragstutor on 20 Aug 02:33 Last updated by Cat on 22 Jun 04:25
There is always a sense of foreboding as Brother pushes Doodle past his physical limits. Although the tone in nature is often one of rebirth it also becomes forlorn, as death is always a consequence of life. Doodle cannot shine for very long.
