Sir Rodney is the head of the Battleschool, Ulf, the horsemaster, Lady Pauline is head of the Diplomatic Service, Nigel, the Scribemaster, and Master Chubb, the castle chef. Will would first like to be assigned to the Battleschool, or maybe to the Horsemaster, but he is not accepted into either of those. Similarly, none of the others choose him either.
