What does Brian see when the raft wheels around a bend?

Brian sees the sound is not a waterfall, but something just as dangerous. The river moves between large stone bluffs that force the river to narrow and deepen. The river runs through some boulders that had split and dropped in the middle. This makes a monstrous chute where the water fights and roars to get through, and the raft heads straight toward it.
