What does Brian see when he begins hallucinating?

Rather than sleeping, Brian hallucinates as he tries to get out of the lake he's drifted into. First, he sees the raft as a canoe flying forward until it leaves a wake of fire. Shaking his head, he sees his mother. Then it seemed that Derek's breath grew very loud. When something swims next to the raft, Brian thinks it turns into a monster.
