What is the theme in The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge?

Nature plays a major part in the voyage. The Mariner has committed a crime against nature by killing the Albatross. After that, nature is part of the revenge against the Mariner. The Mariner must make amends and truly love nature, even the slimy sea snakes, if he is to find any redemption.
