Why is the narrator unable to take his eyes off of Frau Schmitz?

While Frau Schmitz is changing, the narrator noticed she is very strong, feminine, and voluptuous. Frau Schmitz holds herself with a certain grace, and she moves seductively, but also somewhat awkwardly.
