What does Michael do with his own writing?

Michael begins reading the Odyssey aloud, on tape. He has trouble sleeping, so he lies awake at night and reads into a tape recorder. Michael wants to read to Hanna, so he decides to record his entire reading of the Odyssey and send it, in a package with a tape player, to Hanna.
