In Chapter 17, what is the atmosphere in the courtroom at the beginning of the sentencing?

The courtroom is as full as it had been in the beginning of the trial. There are people present from the justice system, students from both universities, schoolchildren, and journalists. The atmosphere is loud and no one notices when the defendants were brought in.
