How does Michael react after reading the letter in Chapter 7?

Although Michael likes the letter, he says he does not like the thought of her impending release. Michael does what he is asked and finds a nearby apartment and a job with a Greek tailor, and he looks into finding social services and educational programs the city offers. Despite these efforts, Michael is afraid and does not want to visit Hanna for fear of their entire relationship coming to a boil.
