Describe the lines of reasoning the defendants (including Hanna) give for not unlocking the church doors, as explained in Chapter 9.

The defendants all said they could not unlock the doors. When asked why, each gave a different reason; some said they were in fact wounded from the bombs in the priest's quarters, or they had been in shock, or they were caring for the other fallen guards. Hanna said she and the others "didn't have any alternative" and that because everything happened so fast, they were unsure about unlocking the doors and possibly allowing chaos to ensue.
