Hanna's lawyer is the only young defense attorney; the others are older and former Nazis. Hanna's lawyer avoids tactics of the other defense lawyers and instead annoys and irritates the judge by being openly sarcastic. Hanna's lawyer is over zealous and relies on passion, whereas the other defense lawyers rely on traditional Nazi reasoning.
