What does Julia do to relieve some of Mary's labor pains?

Julia tries a maneuver that successfully relieves some of Mary's labor pains. Julie puts Mary into a chair against the wall and pushes just under her knees. This shoves her legs back in their sockets and gives Mary some relief.
