Max refers to Roger DeBris as the worst director in the world, claiming that his shows close before they open. While Roger appears to be a nice person, he is clearly in favor of flamboyant and campy lifestyles, preferring that theater remain witty and "gay," as Leo interjects. His style of directing would clash terribly with Franz's vision of the play, a contrast that will hopefully give Max and Leo the flop they need to make money.
