Lars is Mia's bodyguard. Mia indicates in one portion of her journal that Lars has several ex-wives and for this reason does not have much money. She writes about this when she considers paying Lars to hurt Mr. Gianini if he does not react to her mother's new that she is pregnant as Mia believes that he should. Lars lets Mia borrow his cell phone on several occasions. He also suggests to Mia that someone needs to call the police because Hank and Lilly have been missing for so long.
