What is Andrew's profession and where has it taken him as the novel opens?

Andrew is a journalist for The Chronicle newspaper. It has taken him to a small village to interview a priest at the Rapturous Church of Jesus Christ who can supposedly relocate. Andrew was sent on this story as a follow-up to an article he had written previously.
