What happens when Borden sneaks backstage during Angier's show in America?

When Borden sneaks backstage during Angier's show in America, he finds a very large converter under the stage. It frightens him, as does the blue smoke coming from it, so Borden turns off the electricity. This ruins the entire show. While trying to escape, Borden runs directly in to Angier. Seven weeks later, Angier dies.
