What event brings Angier home in Section 11, Part 4, and leads to him missing and contacting Julia?

Angier is informed in Section 11, Part 4 that his brother, Henry, died. This means that Angier inherits his father's title and estate. When Angier is home to deal with this, he starts thinking of Julia and decides to write her a letter. She agrees to meet him and it goes well. He eventually begs her to forgive him and be his wife again.
