Paradoxes in The Picture of Dorian Gray

One evident paradox in Dorian Gray is pleasure. Lord Henry's primary focus in life is gaining pleasure at any cost, regardless of the damage he incurs. After all, the damage never touches him personally. In drawing Dorian into his life, Lord Henry gains an unknowing participant in his game. Dorian plays the part, and Lord Henry gains the pleasure.
