What is the setting of The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger?

This book took place in Gloucester, Massachusetts before setting out to sea. They spent most of their time in The Crows Nest, a local bar that the crew went to pretty much every day. Once they set out to sea, they sailed to The Grand Banks off the coast of New England. After that they set sail back for home and of course we know they never made it.
