Sorry, I don't know what you mean by notice and note signposts. Chapter 6 is the final chapter of the story. You can note the contrast in place and setting: the terrain is hostile and they don't know how to move in it. They are very far of their previous life as coastal folk and have to rely on their instincts to find the way and replenish the water bottle.
