The imagery in this poem is certainly pastoral and passionate. Spring and the promise of new love and birth, at least the shepherd is really hoping, colour the imagery and texture of the poem.
And we will sit upon the Rocks, Seeing the Shepherds feed their flocks, By shallow Rivers to whose falls Melodious birds sing Madrigals.
