Where is Odile when the first bombs go off, and what is it like?

Odile is blocks from the library fetching books for her soldiers at the hospital when the city becomes still. She looks up and sees dozens and dozens of planes. She hears the crash of shattering glass as bombs explode. She hears alarms screeching. People run around her and into her. She knows she should run for cover. After the bombardment is over, she clings to the sides of buildings as she makes her way back into the library.
