What was the actual premonition in Chapter 4 rather than what it means? I know that he was creeped but why was he creeped?

This is an instance of foreshadowing. Panyboy had a creepy feeling.... he was uncomfortable, remembering the last time he'd been in a church and feeling as if this visit wouldn't end on a positive note.
