Nora comes to equate the bottle of champagne that she and Max Bloemhof share at her Oakland apartment to the male objectification of women. Nora sees that, for Max, the indulgence of drinking a bottle of champagne is incredibly similar to his indulgence of cheating on his wife Evelyn with Nora.
