Who is Cassidy “Cass” Thinks Twice from the novel, The Only Good Indians?

Cassidy “Cass” Thinks Twice is a Blackfeet Native American. He was one of the four members of the hunting group that illegally shot elk in a restricted area. Unlike Lewis and Ricky, Gabe continued to live on the reservation after that event. For a few years, Cassidy made a living as a drug dealer, but he then decided to try to live a more stable, law-abiding life. About ten years after the hunting incident, Cassidy sees a herd of elk standing outside his house, staring at him. He then changes his name to Cassidy Sees Elk. Not long after, the elk spirit manipulates Gabe into killing Cassidy.
