How do we know that Coach doesn't like to adopt new ideas and technology into his everyday life from the novel, The One & Only?

Coach still listens to a radio in his truck, office and at home instead of using an iPod. This symbolizes Coach's ties to the past and his reticence to adopt new ideas which may or may not be better than what he is used to.
