How does Poiesedon affect Odysseus's ship?

Poseidon is determined to interfere in Odysseus' journey. He creates treacherous storms at sea, sends Scylla who kills six of Odysseus' men, and punishes anyone who attempts to help Odysseus by turning them into stone.
