I think unconditional love and patience are both motifs that are repeated in this story. Both Allie and Noah are patient with everything about life. Whether is sickness or health, Allie and Noah give each other time and space to simply be alive and enjoy the moment. Their unconditional love for each other transcends both disease and even death.
