What is New Ireland?

New Ireland is a terraformed planet in the New Caledonia system. When discovered, the planet did not have free oxygen, so the process to make it inhabitable was expensive and extensive. The planet was colonized by people who maintained their Gaelic heritage, and who, during the Secession Wars, sided with the rebellion.
